Alternative Poetry Gifts

December 20, 2013

One of my Christmas cards this year is The Twelve Poems of Christmas published by Candlestick Press. This is the fifth volume in a series of ten pamphlets which are promoted as an alternative Christmas card. I have previously sent these as gifts but this is the first time that I have received one. It was a pleasure to sit down with a cup of tea and enjoy the snow-themed poems selected by Carol Ann Duffy.
As a treat for readers this Christmas I have put together a selection of thirteen sheep-themed poems which are free to download from
They can be found under the title of A Shepherd’s Tally and are offered as a celebration of Auld Lang Syne.
I would like to wish you all the best with your own creative projects in 2014 and hope that you enjoy this alternative, calorie free selection box.
