Life Lines Poetry Pamphlet

October 4, 2013

Life Lines poetry pamphlet
The new Life Lines poetry pamphlet is now available from NeST gallery in Barnard Castle. The pamphlet is the latest publication from Mudfog press and features work by myself and Brian Anderson.
This is what other poets are saying about it:
‘Judith Marshall seeks out the voices of her ancestors that lie in the landscape, found documents, phrases and scraps of memory, and with a deft hand that weaves together the loose threads of family history with her own experience, lets them speak of their loves, their losses, their pains, their hopes, their links to the land and their travels, in an array of authentic tongues.’ Bob Beagrie
‘Brian Anderson explores the fractured histories of family with an unflinching eye and a dark humour. With precision of language and imagery he conveys a sense of oppression and dysfunction, placing them in the context of a fragmented society.’ Pauline Plummer
The pamphlet costs £5 and can be purchased by visiting the gallery or sending a cheque made payable to Judith Lesley Marshall, c/o NeST gallery, 25 Newgate, Barnard Castle, County Durham, DL12 8NG.
If you would like to hear Brian and I reading poems from the pamphlet, our next performance of Life Lines is in Sunderland (Brian’s home town) on Tuesday 15th October at 7p.m. We invite you to join us at the Infinity Bar, 1-2 John Street, Sunderland, SR1 1HT.

My friends and I attended the Middlesbrough performance of “Life Lines”, and though none of us have written poetry since childhood, during a relaxed evening, found ourselves exchanging thoughts and idea’s on the probability of exploring themes and dreams in prose. Inspired by readings of family backgrounds and experiences in the pamphlet by Judith L. Marshall and Brian Anderson, I feel sure the pencils will waggle.
