This Writer’s 2012: One. Crazy. Year.

December 20, 2012

Reading this post set me to thinking about reviewing my own writing year. Thanks to all of you who continue to view and follow my blog, and to those of you who have downloaded Zipangu, Year of the Dog 1274: The Second Wave. For anyone who receives a new e-reader from Santa, this book is available free from until the end of this year. Have a good festive season!

Creative Writing with the Crimson League

Looking back on 2012, things have been pretty crazy for me these last twelve months. I’ve had an epic writing year (at least for me.) Here are the highlights:

  • I self-published two novels I had written and edited substantially over the last five years: “The Crimson League” and “The Magic Council,” the first two installments of my Herezoth trilogy.
  • Though I am a perfectionist and routinely freak out about publishing too soon, I have 7 five star and 7 four star reviews for my first novel on, so I guess that’s not too shabby.
  • Assuming I finish a first draft of “The Esclavan Abductions” by the end of the month, I will have written first drafts of two more novels in 2012. The other novel, “The King’s Sons,” is the conclusion of my Herezoth trilogy.
  • I won my first National Novel Writing Month Challenge (NaNoWriMo) writing “The Esclavan Abductions.”
