E-Conference:Kindling, Publishing, Blogging & Writing

Whitworth Hall, Spennymoor Whitworth Hall in Spennymoor is the location of an e-conference in kindling, publishing, blogging & writing scheduled for 16th and 17th March 2013. The conference has been designed for aspirational writers who are interested in developing and publishing their own work online.

Novelist and short story writer Avril Joy begins Saturday’s series of workshops with a session on producing covers and front matter for your e-book, Kindle, POD publication or self-published book.

Novelist and writing consultant Wendy Robertson follows this with a live demonstration of the kindling process.

I close the day with an interactive workshop on developing an online platform to support your work.

Sunday starts with a workshop on writing and editing short stories for competitions. During this session Avril will also encourage you to develop a sense of audience.

The second workshop of the morning focusses on using your blog to find your voice as a writer. Wendy will cover making and breaking the rules to ensure your blog meets your own needs as a writer.

In the afternoon, I will engage you in a series of exercises to develop your creative portfolio.

This conference is suitable for writers of poetry, short stories, fiction, and non-fiction including local and family history.

Each day can be booked separately at a cost of £120 (including morning coffee, lunch and afternoon cream tea) or £220 for the two together. Further reductions for deposits received by 6th January 2013.
